French

Learning a foreign language is an excellent way to contribute to and stimulate the intellectual and cultural life of our students. The beginning French course provides the students not only with basic reading, writing, understanding and speaking skills to deal with most "every-day" situations in the target language, but also exposes them to a culture different from their own. Although foreign language is not required for graduation from Leeward, French 101 serves as Language Arts elective credit toward the A.A. degree and apply toward the foreign language requirement at UH Manoa.
