2.5 General Information: Repeatability

This should only be used if a course is repeatable for credit. If a student does not pass your course they are able to still retake the course to receive credit. Having this field enabled states that the student can take this course and earn credit each time towards their degree. If your course is repeatable make sure to justify why in the Proposer Notes field (field P.8).

Courses that allow for repeatability for more than two times will need instructor approval. Please keep this in mind when completing this field. If your course requires the ability to be repeated more than twice please add a comment into the Propose Notes field (field P.8) as to why.

Do not enable the checkbox if the course is not repeatable for credit.

Course is Repeatable for Credit not enabled.
If the course is repeatable for credit enable the checkbox and two new fields will appear. Make sure to fill in either Max Attempts or Max Credits (you do not need to complete both fields).

Max Attempts is the number of times the course can be repeated. If you wish to allow the student to take the course twice enter a value of 1. This allows the student to take the course two times and receive credit.  This states that the student can repeat the course only once after having received credit already.

Course is Repeatable for credit enabled and Max Attempts set to 2.
Max Credits is the maximum number of credits that can be earned. This should be used for variable credit courses as it will allow the student to take the course until they've reached the maximum number of credits allowed.

Course is Repeatable for credit is enabled and Max Credits is set to 5.
