Zoom Videoconferencing

Zoom is a user-friendly video and web conferencing tool that can be used to conduct online meetings, training, or class discussions.

The EMC has been piloting the use of Zoom for video conferencing needs. Since we started the pilot in 2018, the Universtiy of Hawai'i (UH) system has started offering Hangouts Meet as part of the UH@Google Core Apps. We encourage you to use Google Hangouts Meet for video conferencing. Starting in Spring 2020, UH started also piloting Zoom. You may request a Zoom conference from them as well. Please contact the EMC regarding any questions with using web conferencing.

Option 1: Free Zoom Account

We encourage you to create a free Zoom room for your individual use.

With the free version, you can host up to 100 participants, have unlimited 1 to 1 meetings, and record your session. However, the free version has a limit of 40 mins for group meetings.

Option 2: Request a Zoom Conference Date/Time from EMC

  1. Use this calendar to schedule Zoom Pro Account use.
  2. The EMC will send you and email to confirm your meeting date/time. The email will have the link to your Zoom meeting room.

Option 3: Request a Zoom Conference Date/Time from UH

Request a Zoom conference from UH.
